World chess just placed restrictions on both trans women and trans men The International Chess Federation will stop allowing transgender women to participate in women's tournaments. The group said changing genders has a "significant impact" on a player's status.

All you need to know about transphobes/terfs/gender critical people is that they think trans people have an unfair advantage in chess.

more for cabinetry / casework projects at the moment

sounds like biggest benefit is the sense of scale, can be hard for clients to imagine looking at 3d model or rendering

architects aren't using Vision Pro yet so they decided they might as well give it a try

my dream use case is tree placement

installed Granola iOS app for construction site meeting yesterday and then totally forgot to turn it on. going to set up a location based reminder to use Granola for whenever I pull up to any of our active job sites.

Pinterest is pretty dangerous place. only go there about once a month if I'm looking for something super specific, but then get sucked in. today spent 30 minutes looking at exterior siding images before realized doesn't matter.

the plants do so much of the actual work that sometimes it feels as the designer we've only contributed a small amount to set the stage for them to do their thing

'Growing Conditions' is a newsletter about designing outdoor spaces for living. Spanning beyond the ecological realm, it serves as a resource center that gathers the functional objects, outdoor furniture, and architectural features that give form to gardens.
