Well folks that’s a wrap. Sadly it ended on loop 1 when the math didn’t math. Always a pleasure hanging out with you all. I suppose I will begin my 2027 #bm100 watch shortly after midnight New Year’s Day.

A runner has to begin loop 4 by the 36 hour mark in order to continue. Neither Damian nor Sébastien will finish loop 3 in time to begin loop 4; however, if they complete loop 3 within 40 hours they will be credited with a Fun Run. #BM100

In fairness I don’t think Des’s buildup to today was ideal given the weather in Michigan and her TV schedule. I would love to see what an optimally trained Des can do at a trail ultra.

She did get a golden ticket at Black Canyon yesterday.

While we are waiting for Damo and Seb to finish their fun run, I’ll go on record with a bold 2027 prediction:

With the leaders coming in well over 9 hours in the daylight, I knew we were in rarified air in terms of loop 1 difficulty. That was also before any weather became a factor. #bm100

Thank you as always for the work you do. Seeing in print and thinking about how Max took nearly 15 hours on loop 2 illustrates the brutal reality.
