🧭📮Dr Chopper and I stopped at one of my absolute favorite cat cafes in #Merrillville IN today, so I can work on #Postcrossing projects. I made a new #geocaching set. Come visit Miss Anna and the other kitties, available for adoption, who are playing downstairs and are a happy sight! 🐈🏴‍☠️

🚁🍜🧋We had a lot of fun before and during the Deep River RC Flying Club monthly meeting at the mall in #Merrillville Indiana. I found lots of really cute items on sale, and the shopping bag made a nice backdrop for Cookie's play time this morning.

📮🧭 I'm still having a lot of fun combining my #postcrossing and #geocaching hobbies. This is a cache I hid Sun., near one of my favorite places in Indiana. I've written a lot of postcards here, upstairs overlooking the cat playroom, including this postcard I made for my 'Witch's Familiar' theme. 📮🐈‍⬛

I was delighted to discover this website reference, because I have similar, myth #postcards. Check out the "Skeletons" tag on the #postcrossing forum. I'm currently building a #Gashadokuro #geocache to go with the postcard I made for this forum game's participants.

The #Dinosaur Museum 🦕 complex was very nice; 🍻 #Oktoberfest sparsely attended, 🥨 delayed, with men in Lederhosen playing 🎶 Under the Boardwalk 🎺 UGH, but at least they sold nice t-shirts for my Festive Collection and Postcards designed by a local artist. 😍

The image shows a pint size milk bottle full of Halloween cake sprinkles plus the containers in which the sprinkles came, each topped with the Halloween motif: an eyeball, which I'm going to place on the way to the eye doctor on Sunday; a zombie hand, which we will place near a graveyard; and a ghost, which we're going to place near our home; but I hope it's not haunted! Plus I show a new postcard that I designed: it says "my favorite things witchy season" surrounding a cauldron with a witches broom, a witches hat, some roses, October 1st date, geocaching and Adventure Lab logos, the states where I play, which are Illinois Michigan and Indiana, and a sleeping kitten and woolen mittens, from the sound of music song My Favorite Things.

.... I selected a postcard I made based on the recipient's interests and added the WPD image to the written side. This addressee likes biking, owls, and elephants. I was lucky to have matching stamps, too. 🦉🐘📮

This image shows one of the postcards I am sending on world postcard day. The postcard has an image of Chicago's Lakefront Trail, on the coast of Lake Michigan, with the tall buildings of the city in the background and a large tree that hangs over a terrific bike path. The other side of the card has a sticker I made from the postcrossing official postcard image that they share and let us use. I also put the recipients interests on the card in the form of two different owl stamps and an elephant stamp plus a pair and a blueberry stamp. Our town is known for their annual Blueberry Festival, by the way.

I send her puzzles based on our travels, and now I send her #postcards to match the puzzles.🧩 #postcrossing

📮 This #postcard is one I made when my spouse was helping build the ☀️/// 🌱 Mammoth #solar farm near #Knox #Indiana. The farmer/landowner told me the project was named 🦣 because a mammoth skeleton was found on the farm. #postcrossing

🍫🦕... yet the reviews note good prices on delicious chocolate in their store, so that's what I'll be doing while Jeff explores the 🦕🦖 more thoroughly than I probably would.

In this photo are the digital image flyer for the South Bend Indiana Oktoberfest being held at the Dinosaur Museum October 3rd through 5th of 2025; a postcard I made with an image of a mammoth skeleton that is now at the Field Museum in Chicago; and some Oktoberfest, dinosaur, and chocolate chef digital stickers. A chocolate factory shares the space with the dinosaur museum.

🥨🦖🍫 our last #Oktoberfest celebration of 2025 will be at the #SouthBend 🦕Museum and chocolate factory, which share a space. Many reviews of the factory do not recommend the 🍫 tour (TBC...). 🧭Too many #geocaches nearby, so we'll just hunt. 🏴‍☠️

I'm not in this line of work, very much a layperson, however I recall reading about an old, British civil servants study. Weren't the middle level staff the most endangered for misery as they were rather trapped in meaningless positions? Anyway, that's what I first recalled when I heard the clip.

White Tiger, now living at the Black Pines Animal Sanctuary in Albion, Indiana. I quickly took this photo as the tiger passed me during a photography workshop at the sanctuary.

One of the tigers from the "Tiger King" true crime drama now lives at this sanctuary, near where a traumatized bear slept, who was once used to "bear bait" hunting dogs. So very sad. Please support such animals' well being.
