It is a complex mottled color of browns and grays, with a small hooked beak, round head, rufous tinting to the auriculars, and a huge bright yellow eye that makes it look worried. Its feathers are slicked back tight to the body indicating it is alert.

Every Sharp-shinned Hawk I've ever seen looked like it was worried it left the stove on.
