I've been using the gender-neutral (and only slllightly diminutive 😁) suffix -critters for various levels of elected officials, i.e. aldercritter, Congresscritters, etc. for years now. Seeing it catch on in the wild on occasion and pop up in discussions I'm not actively a part of is delightful.
