I was in Tehran in 2006 when Israel invaded Lebanon. My cousins kept telling me the U.S. attacked Lebanon. I was confused—why would the U.S. do that? They didn’t see a difference; I tried to explain there was one.
Today, no Iranian can tell if the bombs on their heads are American or Israeli.
During the 12 day war, the death toll in Iran was around 1000. In only 48 hours, over 500 Iranians have been killed. At least 165 of those were school children and others at a school murdered in one strike x.com/lcmporter/st...

This is insulting on so many levels but I cannot help but continue to be shocked at how much they do not understand Iran.
Khamenei died just like Khomeini died before him. The guy was in his late 80s; this was an expected outcome. The regime is still the same! What does this even mean??
The options that the US and Israel have engineered for Iranians are increased repression from the Iranian state or full state collapse. Anyone who thinks liberation is on the other side of these bombs, I don’t know what to tell you.

Yesterday I watched videos of Israeli and US bombs hitting the neighborhoods where my family lives, unable to reach them.
The first I hear from them comes today and it’s that they’ve received threatening texts from Iranian intelligence telling them to stay away from “future illegal riots.”
The Lebanese government has just issued a directive “banning” Hezbollah and criminalizing its members, granting authority to the army to go after them. And just like that, from Israeli war to potential civil war in the span of less than 12 hours
