Polaris Croquis

A screenshot of my workspace on the drawing software Krita. It shows the color wheel, brushes and layers on the right and the canvas on the left. On the canvas, there's a low opacity rough and slightly polished sketch of the final drawing, while the full opacity is the lineart with an ink brush - everything done, missing only the face. The art is based on a picture by TrueRef, and it's of the character Eric Draven, from the 94 movie The Crow, crouched on a tombstone, hands crossed while almost touching its name.

Oh, we are so back 🖤

(still debating if I'm gonna lineart the face with the ink brush or a graphite pencil to get more of a wet/shiny look on his eyes)

On the left, there's the canvas with a portrait of two original cyberpunk style characters of mine, Blitz and Agni. Blitz is a taller guy with spiked, messy hair, standing behind Agni and winking to the camera, leaning his head on one of his hands. He is wearing a spiked collar and a padlock chain necklace. Agni is smaller than him, standing in front of Blitz and looking up to him with a somewhat mocking expression, she has long hair and is wearing a spiked collar. It's very much a sketch, with jagged lines and an even loser sketch in lower opacity underneath it.

Where they come from, it's genetically natural for people to have what we consider unnatural hair colors and eye colors, but the rarest types are metallic ones. Their hair is natural, which makes them quite unique.

Usually, what people would do in thumbnails, but I do it in big ones because I have no sense of self preservation, apparently.

I usually do a ✨vibes✨ sketch first and then polish for a 2nd sketch to go from there hahaha the first example is polished version sketch, the second is the pure ✨vibes✨ sometimes I think it's quite remarkable it actually turns into something 🤣

On the top left side, there are a few infos, such as number of objects, vertices, edges, faces and triangles. It's my first try ever at trying to model a character in 3D and I've been working on it for the past 2 days. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than what I was expecting (honestly, I was expecting a formless blob of nothing to come out, but it actually looks like a person's body, so I'm impressed *laughs*)

First try ever at 3D modeling, almost 5 am and I'm having a whole new appreciation for 3D artists

When I sketch I typically do three on top of each other! First one is a super messy one for the vibe, the second one cleans it up a bit, and the third is cleaned up even more and adds some more details. 🫧

Sketches are so fun! Here's one commissions and one personal work. I start on a few layers, separating the main elements and sketching out lines around details. I test colors, lights, and compositions--then merge everything and paint!
