Judging by this photo, I was probably not a big fan of this tradition.

When I was a kid, we were out of school for Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras. Back to school on Ash Wednesday.

Now they get the whole damn week.

I have to play Mr. Smee for a Mardi Gras thing, so I've been watching Hook. A movie I love but that has a lot of mixed reviews.

At the beginning, Hook seems so menacing and mysterious. Almost like an evil spirit. The insane buildup to reveal him as a pompous, overblown caricature is wild.

It's a tres leche king cake. It has glazed strawberries on top of white icing. A king cake is a circle cake, so it is in a circle. A slice is being lifted out and the tres leche filling is visible.
