like in SMB1 they're just "Mushroom Retainer(s)", and in Japan they're Kinopio, both of which make perfect sense. What happened? NoA did kind of go too feral with names in SMB3 and SMW but it doesn't seem like that, more like a mistake.

that's probably right, they did distribution for a lot of PAL games (Capcom in particular), and they stood out doing it because they weren't very good at it and it was a crapshoot whether you'd ever find a particular game even if you were hunting for it...

Right now it doesn't offer any enhancements beyond unlocked framerate, but the game seems to run perfectly fine in software rendered 640x480.

When your gums shrink it'll be a little bit more annoying, when you get to that stage I'd suggest trying denture pads out for a bit before going to the dentist for an adjustment, just to delay a return visit to get the dentures adjusted since that's more expensive...
