Just heard someone say "Pickens needs to pick it up, I got a parlay for him to get 100-plus yards" and had to resist the urge to drown them in the gravy.

Well, for one they could've gotten a more productive pitcher probably for less. You still have to spend smart even if you're a wealthy team.

Some reactions to the Gray trade are utterly ridiculous. Mostly the ones asking why they didn't "just" get Cease or Ryan. Because this isn't a video game and they cost real money. With Gray, now they have room to go get a bat or two which is also a need.

Something important to keep in mind. The more the walls close in on him...the more desperate he's gonna get. And desperate people do desperate (and often dangerous) things.
