I did a surprise update where I added mimic card mobs to the game. Got a great reaction from a playtester who wasn't expecting them. These mimics will keep you on your toes!

ngl I spent a little bit too long on the art for this new mob... no regrets though, this guy is no joke! He also has a little surprise in store if you get him to low enough health... comment when you see it! 👀👀👀

Ai is such a double edged sword. We hate it, but it’s so dang useful for so much. Like, you just whipped up this concept art, and yeah it’s not as good as a person, but it was free and fast!

Players have requested more ways to heal in Card Reaper, so I made the 'healing doors' card. Every time you enter a door, you heal some hearts. This should help a little!

The art for my cards are stored in minimal json binary format. To make creating art easier, I made this little web app to draw and then export it to json.

The webapp is available to play with. If you want to make some custom card reaper card art, email it to me and you may be featured on a card!

This new feature is (actually) a GAME CHANGER! You can now save your deck to the browser cache between runs. This means if you want quit and come back alter, you don't have to start building your deck from scratch again!

New animation just dropped! Let me know what yall think of this new "play card" animation. My favorite part is how the scene slows down as the player dramatically swings the card. It's giving gambit or yu gi oh. Let me know what animations to add next! 👿 👿

Having enemies run toward you to do contact damage may force the player to dash out of the way

A few quality of life changes to card reaper today. We now have a new more militaristic hud, a cooler swing animation, and some play-card bug fixes. Check it out now!

It's 2 am, and I just added an incredibly unhinged new card to the game...

The idea was to provide a card that switches out your scythe weapon with a mace weapon. Picking this card up means pivoting to a completely different play style. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
