When an external shock raises costs, they raise prices. When costs ease off, they keep the difference. Growth!

Prices are never going down because there's no real incentive. The system demands constant growth. Higher prices ensure profits. If you lower prices, you have to increase sales to get the same effect, which is both more work and less certain.

I wish I could believe there was a Bad Place for these people to end up in.
