Economic Migrant from beyond the pale. ‘Elitist’: I function from the neck up. Book reader (& writer). The day job is Criminologist, but I’m really a student of justice. An ‘elitist’ is anyone who can function from the neck up, according to populists.

you deleted your post. To respond: Charm is authentic not cosmetic, sincere not fake when it involves genuine openness & curiosity. These are first steps to cultivating relationships. Style is no substitute for substance. Farage lacks substance which style cannot mask.

Weird that the Trumpet thinks that Starmer is not like Winston Churchill, missing the whole point that Starmer (like Churchill) gets the heebies regarding overt fascists, and realises that the UK would be better off not kneeling to such dictatorships.

Sounds like the Tories and PPE contracts during Covid.

Journalism has become so downgraded, journos preoccupied with finding the gotcha in everything, that context or proportionality have been abandoned.

And Farage and Badenoch think UK should be slavishly supporting THIS?

Deeply disappointed in 2 of emailed publications I've subscribed to utterly condemning Starmer's actions re ME war and actually not telling the whole correct story of sequence of events. 2nd article accuses Starmer of specifically accusing Greens of extremism during Gorton and Denton, again, untrue.

First Past the Post can no longer deliver real mandates - only chaos. 60% of Brits want it scrapped.

Yet the Representation of the People Bill won’t even touch our voting system, which leaves millions unrepresented.

Tell Keir Starmer to change this.

For Starmer; I'll take a PM who thinks deeply before sending British sons and daughters to their potential deaths anyday. Those who are criticising him on this have never done anything more hazardous than making a cup of tea.

Why some British expats in Dubai insist it’s business as usual – despite Iran war Amid schadenfreude back home as UK nationals express their fears, others say they are not leaving anytime soon

It isn’t schadenfreude, you’re all just jealous of us. Dubai expats showing some self awareness (not).

Q: “Are you saying that there is no responsibility, no plan for the U.S. to at least play a role in whatever government comes?”

Rubio: “We'll see how circumstances play out…If there's something we can do to help them down the road, we'd obviously be open to it, but that's not the objective.”

They won’t come back to Blighty. They’ll look for another tax dodger’s haven Monaco or Jersey? Maybe reunited with their money in the Caymans. I like the idea of transferring to the Isle of Man any tax ‘expat’ who uses U.K. facilities (paid for by U.K. taxpayers ).

Worried about freedom of speech? Then what’s happening at the Open University should terrify you | Owen Jones The OU has capitulated to a pro-Israel lobby group about the use of the term ‘ancient Palestine’. The wider context is impossible to ignore, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones

Zionist lawfare group Lawyers For Israel will try any ruse to shut people up. Desperate, alienating, intimidatory - they exist to censor and rewrite history. No tactic is beneath them in their insistence on the exceptional status of Israel as beyond criticism.

I can recommend Rwanda as a safe country for these ex-pats looking for a safe haven, we’ve built the accommodation and it’s luxurious, at least that’s what they all told us. Not seeing much sympathy, we have no responsibility to tax exiles who think London is a dangerous place.. Get Tae Fuck 👌

Tax exiles & washed up ‘influencers’ who have moved to Dubai will surely have the spine to stick to in their newfound homeland and show proper commitment. They surely don’t wish to turn tail and run back to dangerous London?

🚨 It looks like the UK government is gearing up to upend copyright law in favour of AI companies, legalising the theft of their work.

This is despite creatives' huge protests, and despite previous proposals being roundly rejected by the public.

Please spread the word.

Want to support democracy in Serbia? Arm Ukraine The incessant criticism of the Serbian right-wing political opposition and protests spectrum didn’t shake the foundations of the government led by the right-wing populist kakistocracy of Alek…

Russian aggression against Ukraine actually emboldened the pro-Russians in Serbia. They are convinced that Russia will be on the Danube any day now and that we will join forces to reclaim what is called a Greater Serbia. Wanna support democracy in Serbia? Arm Ukraine.
