As the Forsaken look toward an uncertain future, they have begun to utilize a more "hands-off" approach to conflict. Salvaged harvest golems from Lordaeron and Gilneas have been repurposed by Forsaken engineers - suited to a nation that now values survival above all else.
Making some preparations for the final battle against Deathwing in my WoW AU Campaign.
Measured out the Spine of Deathwing as a battle map based on the 1,200 ft. wingspan from the cinematic, copying the metrics for a front facing map.
Tokens are an ancient dragon, a drake, and a person.
BIG BOY.
I fully expect the two of them to maybe help find Doomfist and make sure he's not actually dead.
I can't wait to see how they build up towards the Conspiracy for all of this. Especially since Emre's Ult looks a lot like the Solar powers of Illari's people... Who the Conspiracy wiped out.

06.02.2026 00:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think its about time for another WORLDBUILDING WEDNESDAY!
Topic 49: The Origin of Trolls, Elves, Goblins, and Drogbar
Unlike humans, dwarves, tauren, etc, trolls, elves, goblins, and drogbar are natural denizens of the world unconnected to Wild Gods.
Let's talk a little bit about their origins!

And that will do it for this week!
As always, questions, comments, and critique are always welcome, and feel free to borrow anything here for your own personal use.
I've got a few more ideas for Worldbuilding Wednesdays, so keep your eyes peeled for another in a few weeks/months!
A family tree for our Grell as the Goblin-Troll-Drogbar-Elf ancestor AU theory, made by @moondarner!
This history proves that the diminutive Grell, adaptable and clever as they are, are essentially the primates of Azeroth, and are the ancestor of all non-Wildborne, non-Titanforged, non-alien race that inhabits it!
Maybe Azeroth will take the form of a Grell when she finally awakens..?
The return of their prominent eyebrows, smaller canines, additional digits, smaller bodies, and deeper affinity with nature brought the elves closer to Grell than the trolls, who diverted more drastically to adapt to their circumstances under the Black Empire and its dark experiments!
05.02.2026 04:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Lastly, the elves. As you know, the Well of Eternity transformed Dark Trolls who were exposed to it into the first Kaldorei, who later became Quel'dorei, Shaldorei, and Nazj'dorei (Naga)
Contrary to common (elvish) belief, doing so was not an "evolution" so to speak, but rather, a "return to form."
Meanwhile, some Grell experience convergent evolution, becoming the ancestors of Goblinkind. Later, after exposure to Kajamite, they became the first Goblins - keen, inquisitive and adaptable, albeit without the height of the Grellkin cousins.
Kelfin and Hobgoblins developed from them later.
This paradise, separated from the rest of the Dream by the Rift of Aln, became known as Harandar, and the tribe of Grellkin gradually evolved from exposure to the Dream into the Haranir. Guided by the voice of the Goddess Alnhara from within her Cradle, they safeguard the roots of the world trees.
05.02.2026 04:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Though they likely would have been immediately eradicated by the Manifold if they had been discovered, these Grellkin hid within the Emerald Dream - a place few Titanforged ever visited, as the sleepless beings did not dream.
Not even Freya discovered their presence, though not for lack of trying.
Not all Grellkin became Trolls. While some intermixed with trollkind after the fall of the Black Empire, others fled from the horrors of the surface - Titan and Old God alike. Though most of these tribes died off, one in particular made it all the way to center of Azeroth - The World Core.
05.02.2026 04:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Some of the Dire Trolls that had been experimented were captured by the Manifold in order to learn more about the Old Gods. Failed attempts to "cure" these Trolls resulted in further adaptations, resulting in the Drogbar. These beings were gradually reintegrated into the world.
05.02.2026 04:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Drakkari, Amani, Gurubashi, Farakki, Kailari (Dark), and Anzilari (Mountain) trolls rose during this time. After the rise of the Empire of Zul, the Anzilari of Zandalar, who lived around Zandalar'Anzil (the Holy Mountain) would eventually simply become known as the Zandalari, or "The Holy Ones"
05.02.2026 04:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Bwonsamdi, Legba, Shango, Ogoun, and Lukou were just some of these heroes, who would later become worshipped as the major Ghede Loa of the Zandalari.
When the Ordering began, the liberated Progenitor Trolls spread to the corners of the world, adapting to the environments they settled upon.
Millenia later, the Titans (called the Travelers by the trolls) arrived and began to wage war against the Black Empire. Embolded by this act of defiance, some trolls began to rise up against their tormenters.
During this time, figures of these early tribes rose to divinity through this defiance.
These Grellkin became the early ancestor of the Zandali, known in common as the troll. For convenience, we will call the the Progenitor Trolls.
The sturdiest and strongest of these Progenitor Trolls were then experimented on by the Black Empire. These were the first Dire Trolls.
During this time the Grellkin, who naturally adapt to their environments, quickly began to adapt to their new existences. Exposure to excessive torture made them resilient, able to even regrow limbs that were torn off. Their tusks grew longer, their tails shorter, and their digits more specialized.
05.02.2026 04:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Then, the Old Gods came. Four mountains of flesh collided with Azeroth, plunging the world into chaos for over 100,000 years.
The Grellkin, still at a very early stage of development, were quickly enslaved by the forces of shadow as they spread across the land, transforming it into a dark utopia.
