We've also been working on redoing the environment data, including our own CAPE calculations and laying the foundation for the addition of point-and-click soundings in a future version. We were hoping to release this with the 2024 data, but it's turned into a much bigger project than we anticipated.

From a forthcoming release: all documented tornadoes plotted on a globe with the eastern North America, parts of south America, western Africa, and Europe visible.
From a forthcoming release: tornadoes the across the US on 6 May 2024 with 500 mb heights, winds, and wind speed at 02Z 7 May.
You may have noticed some curvature in the map on the above image. We've switched to plotting everything on a globe instead of a flat map, which has the advantage of reducing distortion near the poles, in addition to looking pretty cool. This will be released with the 2024 data.

From a forthcoming release: tornadoes in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri on 26 April 2024 along with ERA5 2 m dewpoint, 10 m winds, and MSLP at 20Z 26 April.
2024 was a very busy year for tornadoes in the US, so it's taken a while to get all the data processed. We're in the final stages of this task, and the 2024 US data will hopefully be released soon. We're also working on getting updated European data from ESWD, hopefully this summer.
