The commentators marveling that so many Californians voted for just one thing on their ballots don’t understand how refreshing it is to not have to set hours aside to research so many propositions and issues just to vote. This was so easy and worth it.

As a native Washingtonian, this hurts on multiple leveIs. We mourned Notre Dame when it burned. The White House, US Capitol, The Washington and Lincoln Monuments are DC’s and America’s iconic landmarks. For me, it feels like watching Notre Dame go up in smoke, but in this case, it is arson.

In retrospect it looks basic, but companies who hire the biggest firms get millions in gov. contracts. They probably didn’t encourage resistance. The largest law firms with huge overhead were scared to lose those clients. In addition to lost profits, some would have to downsize/fire employees.

I understand the sentiment, but we don’t want firms stacked with talent from top law schools forced to defend (for free) the admin. as they illegally deport people, or help industry violating environmental laws. Instead, companies with big gov. contracts should hire firms that didn’t bend the knee.
