Well, no, they’re not just as wrong. The bigger error is not seeing that “trying to win over voters from a party on the opposite end of the spectrum, whose values your core voters oppose” is not same as “chasing voters from party on same side ideologically whose values your core voters like.”

i’m tired of every paper (even critical ones) on societal impact of AI starting by both-siding the “benefits” and risks/harms of AI

in academia, i would like us to arrive at a collective reckoning that we don’t need to play both sides. it's totally legit to clearly state just the harms. period

For so short a film, Chris Marker's La Jetée has a very long tail, one whose reach we can trace through Terminator, via 12 Monkeys and now Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die. (Did somebody say diminishing returns...)
