Thats true. I just think the AFL's own hubris is starting to smell quite bad.
16.11.2025 07:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#AFL - If a team cannot win enough games to make finals in their own right without some wildcard bullshit than they do not deserve to be playing finals
- The AFL is rapidly losing it's soul and heart in the chase for money.
#AFL - Players who suffer concussions in the Wildcard round will potentially miss their teams elim final under the current rules
- It's not really about giving fans more games with consequences but more to drive up the AFL's broadcast and gambling revenues.
- Not every idea the NFL or NBA have wins.
#AFL Here's why the AFL's Wildcard round sucks
- It will cause the elimination finals to be lopsided. 5th and 6th playing against potentially tired, sore teams even with the six to seven days before the elimination finals
- The top eight finals works as proven by Gold Coast Hawthorn this year.
Meanwhile the #NRL are reportedly examining an idea where by the team who scored a try would restart the game by kicking off instead of the team who conceded the try. It's aimed at reducing blow outs.
Except it's the six again rule that's causing the blow outs but the NRL won't ever admit that.
#AFL So yeah, the AFL today confirmed the introduction of a "Wildcard Weekend" or as it should be called "the top ten finals system" (because the top eight finals system needed fixing so much #sarcasm)
7th v 10th and 8th v 9th will be on what was the weekend of the pre finals bye.
Sorry I have been so inactive on here lately. Guess I was sparing this place my blind rage at the #AFL.
Better to leave the blind rage at the other site,

Same. I've learnt in the last two or three years that the AFL are incredibly good at empty platitudes especially on things like domestic violence and homophobia.
