Seems like SWS was a wake up call for the western scene. Good. A lot needs to change and I'm excited to see how folks innovate to push the collective scene forward.

I'm always down to see folks experiment even if certain things are not particularly my cup of tea.

I'm so happy that you found a place where you feel your work's value. It's my goal to work for a university one day for this exact reason + being surrounded by education-driven individuals.

Universities have their shortcomings, but ultimately, they are some of the best institutions we have around.

Hahah of course! I meant it more as a jab at myself being the reality game show nerd that I am.

Everyone has their preferences, but I do wish I put more time into learning other esports especially given my line of work.

It's something that I have felt for a while & was compounded by S6, BB All-Stars, & the Dec 9th Popcast being uploaded by IPL recently where Popgun points out part of our numbers issue. Add in the recent team vs. pickup discussion that came up again and I felt this was a good time to ask here.

We really wanted to pursue content creation in this area a while back but it never panned out. CCA Lecture Notes was part of my short term solution for this, but its had mixed results so far.

Vapor and I have revisited the idea recently and maybe it's something to prioritize like RL creators do.

Genuine question: How can the CCA capture your attention and get your interest in our events?

Splatoon community always talks about wanting consistent teams and the CCA is by far one of the best at having consistent brands by nature of collegiate esports, but sometimes numbers don't reflect that.

Oh of course not! Purely theoretical that I could get into other esports more if I watch less Survivor, but that's not going to happen lmao. I will never miss an opportunity to watch Cirie or Christian on my screen.

I also follow Rocket League and LoL very loosely. I tend to follow traditional sports like NBA and MLB more closely, but I try to keep tabs on every major sports and esports league/events.

Ultimately, it's just a time issue. Maybe I gotta watch less Survivor and other reality game shows hahah.
