A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nation’s people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.

We mustn’t let this war do so.

The costs of this Iran war debacle will likely be more than the cost of extending the ACA health insurance subsidies.

If you asked Americans, which do you want: another war in the Middle East or lower health care costs at home, is the margin 90 to 10? 95 to 5?

All while the poor cant afford to eat.

Thanks for sharing. Clearly, this president believes he doesn’t need to inform the American people of the decision to send their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers or sisters into a war in the middle of the night. I hope folks understand that he treats us a subjects not as fellow citizens.

All search engines employ AI now. It has some advantages over checking every website yourself as AI can summarize the info you’re looking for. However, when I look at the info search engine AI supplies, my motto is trust BUT verify.

I can recommend Claude AI. It’s consistently honest, doesn’t flatter you, and handles nuance well. It doesn’t just tell you what you want to hear — and that’s exactly what makes it more useful. But besides that, Anthropic’s founders are Democratic donors, while OpenAI’s are supporting Trump.

Seems to be the pattern…

As an American taxpayer I want to say that I do not support this president and his decision to join Israel and bomb Iran.
