Gélineau advanced the term "narcolepsy" in 1880 while de la Tourette described his eponymous syndrome in 1885. "Autism" was coined by Bleuler in 1911, with full diagnoses soon after.
But what do I know? I'm not the Cabinet secretary in charge of the goddamn Department of Health and Human Services.

This is functionally… fine and may be at face value good. This isn’t a magic bullet- we won’t be suddenly healthier. This could also make some foods more expensive. We need upstream policy that ups access to more nutritious foods- not just banning ingredients that have debatably negligible effects

A graph showing reported measles cases in the United States. The line shows that there were regularly 400-600,000 cases each year until 1963, when the measles vaccine was licensed, at which point cases plummet. In 2000, the elimination of measles was declared.
Vaccines have granted families in wealthy countries the luxury of forgetting what measles, polio, rubella, and other preventable diseases are like.
We're looking at how many millions of lives vaccines have saved.

HIV prevention was making great strides. Then Trump’s budget axe fell
CDC layoffs and program cuts gutted branches responsible for a slew of HIV prevention services, imperiling decades of progress.
"It’s not clear now whether the CDC has the expertise required to even estimate the size of the [HIV] epidemic.
“No more statisticians are there to support the national HIV incidence,” said one affected employee."

AFRICOM commander Gen. Langley tells senators that China is "trying to replicate" USAID programs in Africa as the US scales back USAID.
"They're trying to use that as an extension of the Belt and Road Initiative to gain favor by the African countries," Langley said.
Wow who could’ve guessed that this would happen
It’s almost as if USAID was a pillar of American soft power and influence in the world
It’s almost as if it was entirely predictable that America’s adversaries would work to fill the void left by USAID’s destruction

‘One of the darkest days’: NIH purges agency leadership amid mass layoffs
In shock move, four institute directors at the US biomedical agency are removed from their posts.
Attacking science undermines the foundations of our nation's health.
“This will go down as one of the darkest days in modern scientific history in my 50 years in the business,” says Michael Osterholm, an infectious-disease epidemiologist at the U. of Minnesota.
