But we can't disagree on humans rights.

If you don’t support equal rights for LGBTQ people, disabled people, & people of every ethnicity, there isn’t room for compromise. Plain & fucking simple.

In 2020 Mexico took the step to ban it in all forms, something that countries like the USA still have not done. Currently, the Supreme Court is in the process of siding with radical Christoid theocrats and will likely rule that all states that have banned conversion therapy must re-legalize it.

5 years ago today Mexico banned the highly abusive and life scarring practice known as “conversion therapy.” This form of torture is based in the pseudoscientific belief that LGBTQ people can be mentally abused into no longer being queer.

Imagine thinking that straight people who don’t understand your experience should accept you when you won’t do the same for others that you don’t fully understand. It’s the dumbfuckery of their cognitive dissonance for me.

27 years ago today South Africa decriminalized gay male relationships. From 1957 until 1998 being convicted of being a gay man meant a fine of 4000R, imprisonment for 2 years, or in some cases both. Since 1998 South Africa has developed into the undisputed leader in queer rights in the Africa!

Up until 1980 homosexuality was legal in the West African country of Togo. But 45 years ago today, the country made being a gay criminal offense punished with 3 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 West African Francs. This law is still in force as we speak, in 2025 and applies to trans people too.

On this day in 2018 Maryland became the 11th state to make this practice illegal, and now in 2025 a total of 24 states have similar bans in place. The fact it is not 50 highlights just how much work remains before this country can even somewhat convincingly pretend to care about human rights.

7 years ago today, the US state of Maryland finally banned the barbaric and abusive practice known as conversion therapy. Those subjected to this practice are mentally and at times even physically tortured into claiming they are no longer queer in order to escape.

If you tell a Religious Conservative, or MAGA voter that you hope they are one day treated exactly like trans people are today, they would take that as a threat, and that really speaks for itself.

The shocking fact is that Minnesota was actually on the earlier side of states repealing such laws. If you think our safety and rights in America are guaranteed, think again. Republifreaks and Magats are desperate to drag the entire country back into the theocratic dark ages.

In fact, being gay was not legal in have of the country until 2003 and it was not until 2023 that Minnesota officially passed a bill that repealed ban on homosexuality, as the 2001 decriminalization was based in a court ruling from Doe v. Ventura State District Court Judge Delila F. Pierce.

Just 24 years ago being gay in Minnesota could result in one year in prison and/or a $1,000 fine. Next time someone tries to tell you that the USA has always been a good country for queer people, remind them how f🔴cking stupid they sound.
