Who benefits from the use of AI, and at what cost to others (and themselves)? Who bears the residual risks, and for what benefit to themselves (and others)?

More to come from this important collaboration...

We finished the workshop with a grand question: What is the BIG argument for the safe use of AI in policing? What subsequent concrete questions should both policymakers and police forces ask when presented with AI-enabled solutions?

20.02.2026 13:00 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

We explored the disparity between the expectations of police forces and current technological capabilities. We also discussed how state-of-the-art AI assurance, building on long-established practices in safety-critical systems, can support the responsible deployment of AI in policing.

Here's the question posed to the audience: When developing such systems, are we aiming to reduce the burden on non-disabled users by avoiding accommodation, or to genuinely improve accessibility and autonomy for disabled users?
