You know jack fucking shit about me, my life, nor my contributions to this community.

At the end of it, the problem remains: if the con can't guarantee attendee safety and its integrity with months of heads-up, how can we expect them to deal with an immediate, ongoing, unexpected situation properly?

It will require work and making-up to everyone to make things right, in time. Maybe.

While there is, indeed, a liability issue from the con's perspective, they could have said no from the get go instead of making promises that they couldn't keep.

If that's due to a lack of research or foresight on the con's part, it doesn't matter - they failed their GOH and their attendees.

While I agree and understand that, the con was made aware of this issue beforehand. And the individual in question has a long history of really bad actions against the babyfur community.
Yet, the con chose to continue with Beta as GOH in spite of this.

They knew what they were getting themselves in

I had to make some tough calls as a conrunner. I also made some bad calls.
I understand, to a degree, where they are coming from.
But this is literally the worst call they could have made, IMO. Especially if they had time to prep, and chose to cave in.

While not a popular opinion, I genuinely think that this sort of harassment behaviour from a community member should make it an automatic ban at all and every convention. They are a major security liability for EVERYONE at that point.

You deserve praise for at least being civil about it, if hurt.

As an ex-conrunner, I am saddened to see how this unfolded, and you have my utmost sincere sympathies.

I would have thought that the con, having been forewarned, would have gone through with things. I can see why they might have not, but while it would explain it... it doesn't excuse it.
