CEnv furious about anthropogenic Climate Change; passionate about wildlife, regeneration, soils and habitats. Love gardening. Hacked off with Labour sacking its environmental pledges, sounding & acting like Tories. Hate Farage & his nasty politics

Food is too cheap. We want fewer chemicals, high standards for animals. Drive to keep low price disadvantages farmers. Governments could choose to do something different, perhaps linked to Universal Credit and similar. Those who can afford would pay the true cost of production.

There was a drive to get English people to work on farms which failed? To an extent it’s understandable and not necessarily down to Can’t be Arsed. Farms remote from towns, no frequent bus service, no trains, workers got to get back to collect kids from school?

They just swallowed the lie which they were told would bring back the hay days of fishing. No foreign vessels in UK waters, no red tape to export to Europe, don’t worry lads everything will be fine, you trust me don’t you? I’m one of you.

Agreed to an extent however, it must be remembered fishermen were sold a big lie by Farage & Johnson. Exporting live fish to Europe has reduced dramatically & fishing licences sold to the biggest companies. m.youtube.com/watch?v=XXA1...

Did the local towns never think of the impact Brexit would have on farming, on farmers ability to export, on the harvesting of crops? Silly question I suppose, they can’t have done.

I think all University towns voted Remain. Greater Lincolnshire, overwhelmingly rural with farmers reliant on a migrant workforce voted Leave. I think that same area is now Reform. The same guy who pushed for Brexit. You couldn’t make it up

Commonplace in Leeds in 60’s (mother & her friends) and in 70’s (Saturday jobs overhearing customer conversations). Mother’s stance was interesting as her grandparents were Irish immigrants but she could never see the similarity, it was all about skin colour.

Heard this a.m. someone suggesting MPs defecting to Reform have no political ideology but are merely opportunists looking to get themselves back in a position of power. Completely agree

Thatcher, much as her policies in general were not mine, was and is the only UK politician, who knew what she was talking about in terms of atmospheric CO2 and what impact increasing concentrations would have.

Always found it very odd that someone keeps dead person clothes. I understand from an immediate family perspective, for a while, but these were all work clothes, not ones intimately close to family. Whose idea was it to keep them? It’s weird.

Activist judges? Which are they? Just because you don’t get the outcome you want, doesn’t mean judges are activists for your political opposition.

Senior members of Reform, FaRage, Anderson, Yusuf, knew the 10 years of austerity and constant cutting of local government monies, plus the 2% tax increase ceiling or it would trigger a local referendum meant there was no wastage of any real value in local authorities. Just Trump apeing politics

It’s always referred to as the Flagship show, but that’s surely not for the same reasons it once was. There’s too much evidence the BBC News and this type of show favour far right. This is both in the questions they ask and the lack of pushback on obvious misinformation spouted.

A pertinent question to ask is whether those attending Mosques are given the same level of police protection as Synagogues? There could be accusations of two tier policing if not.
