as a bonus tip i suggest you start thinking outside the box on what we think are the right sounds, it's often the case the sounds we hear were made by something that looks or feels nothing like we expected, it just needs to sound like it, ex: frying bacon for rain, look up sound foley tips!

freesound has a lot of different sounds made by all kinds of different users, you can filter them by copyright law including public domain and attribution, however... they range massively in quality and texture, if you browse a bit and tinker with them you can get all sorts of stuff
