I don't think they would've had hits post-2015 whether Mania happened or not tbh

Here's just a few things that have been around longer than ICE.
This is not some longstanding historical organization that we can't go without. Abolishing it is the only sane solution.
As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.β¨β¨ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

"Boy, I sure am excited to listen to The Beatles for the first time! I sure hope none of the lyrics have aged poorly being from the 60s and all"
The very first line on their very first album:
Happy new years everyone π₯³ I'll try this again in a year! Here's the full list of artists I delved into for 2025
Radiohead
My Chemical Romance
Nirvana
R.E.M.
Voila
Muse
Jamiroquai
U2
The Police
The Killers
Gorillaz
Blur
#1
Love is Like - Maroon 5
This wasn't part of the project but I listened anyways. Worst Maroon 5 record yet, it has all the same problems as their last few but without any hits. At least Jordi had some earwormy pop songs. Adam's voice is shot, the band is on autopilot, I think it's over for them.
#2
Long Story Short - Voila
I actually don't mind this band in general, but their debut album was aggressively not it for me. Felt like a cross between Ed Sheeran and modern Jonas Brothers, even at just 8 quick songs I struggled finishing it.
#3
Will of the People - Muse
I could've put a couple of late-stage Muse albums on this list, but I think their most recent one represents everything wrong with their current direction. No artistic cohesion, over produced, corny lyrics... they just sound like a complete parody of themselves here.
#4
Around the Sun - R.E.M.
13 albums into their career, this is the point where they completely ran out of steam. Everything after the first 2-3 songs is boring adult contemporary filler and it goes on for almost an hour. Even the band has admitted this was completely phoned in. Exhausting.
#5
Songs of Experience - U2
A band formed in the late 70s tries to compete with Imagine Dragons. What could go wrong!? This whole thing just sucks, the songs are at best passable but several are among their worst ever. No vision whatsoever. A longshot from their creative peak in the 80s and 90s.
#6
The 2nd Law - Muse
Another mess of an album with a few good songs on it, all at the beginning though. After that it just falls apart into unmemorable filler that's simultaneously corny and pretentious. Ends with two weak songs sung by the bassist (why??) and then a 2-part dubstep experiment. WTF
#7
The Ballad of Darren - Blur
I generally like Blur, but this most recent album of theirs was just not good compared to their previous works. All of the songs are slow and boring, they blend together into a mush and never feel like they go anywhere interesting. Feels like they ran out of ideas.
#8
No Line on the Horizon - U2
Or at least they thought there was no line. π There are a few very good songs on here, but it's also home to several of the worst songs of their career. Tonally it's all over the place, the flow falls apart half way in and most songs were forgettable. A mess, truly.
#9
Accelerate - R.E.M.
This late career dud was meant to recover from their last album (which will be later on this list) by showing they could "still rock with the kids". They could not. A bland an unmemorable dad rock album whose only saving grace is being short and at least pretty energetic.
NOW ON TO THE WORST π‘
#10
Battle Born - The Killers
Very mid album, which is disappointing knowing what they're capable of. The whole thing feels like they're on autopilot, no interesting riffs or synths or drums or anything. None of the songs were memorable, they all blended together into mush.
#1
The Bends - Radiohead
Probably basic to call this my favorite Radiohead album, but idc it's all bangers! There's several others I enjoy just as much, but this is the easiest one to just throw on and vibe out to for me. Easily the album I've returned to the most this year.
#2
Achtung Baby - U2
The peak of U2's career. Every song feels like it could've been a massive hit, the production and sound was groundbreaking at the time, and they pulled off a major creative reinvention that carried them throughout the 90s. Anyone could recognize at least one song from this!
#3
Kid A - Radiohead
One of the greatest left turns in music history for a reason. The mood, flow and ambiance here are incredible. Kinda feels like you're living out an entire lifetime in a dystopian future from birth to death. Lots of accessible banger songs too, despite it's reputation!
#4
The Joshua Tree - U2
The album that birthed Pop Rock as we know it today, with a lush sound pulling from Blues, Roots Rock and Americana music. The first half might as well be a greatest hits album, but the second half is no slouch either. It's the core U2 sound at its purest and its best!
#5
Sam's Town - The Killers
This one gets overlooked because of Hot Fuss before it (which would be on this list if I hadn't already heard it), but it's just as chock full of bangers while also having a more intentional concept. Really feels like you visit this small town for a day and then leave.
#6
Black Holes and Revelations - Muse
This was their creative peak and last great album, imo. Perfect length, great songwriting, awesome riffs, all without going overboard and getting self indulgent like on their following records. They pushed themselves into new territories and it worked! Here...
