Incredible scenes from Antsiferov Island, with sea lions escaping into the water and away from a landslide after the earthquake.

The corpse at every wedding, the bride at every funeral.
Incredible scenes from Antsiferov Island, with sea lions escaping into the water and away from a landslide after the earthquake.
30.07.2025 19:32 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Seems to me if a 7-year old is able to write a submission well enough that a councillor can't tell whether or not its written by an adult - then good on them, and no reason why it shouldn't be considered!
I don't want to live in a society where our children get no say in the future they'll inherit.
There are so many fantastic policy experts that can do all this stuff - no need to solely rely on Craig Renny.
This government is dismantling our health systems (and many other systems eg environmental protection, safety net etc)
- this is Labour's time to shine and be loud.
Fantastic work from the greens yet again. And Greens win by picking up Labour's slack.
But Labour should be doing this stuff. They should be doing fiscal analysis, spotting weaknesses, finding holes, creating killer graphs etc.

Glad @NZGreens are firmly behind a Ministry for Green Works to create 25,000 jobs in the construction sector directly & 16k indirectly. Plus 15k Jobs for Nature.
Construction jobs are often gendered.
Let's also focus on resourcing care/education jobs.

Where is the Taxpayers Union?
30.04.2025 02:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Beyond outrageous. Methanex manages to avoid paying tax, while paying $70 dividends to Canadian owner. They've received hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies from the taxpayer. Meanwhile, they're killing the climate and putting jobs at risk.

The fleetwide transition to Road User Charges and away from fuel levies is not only a climate tragedy, it erodes New Zealand's fuel security and needlessly wastes endless money on fuel imports.

The story is also looking bad for indigenous marine species.
07.04.2025 21:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Over three quarters of our freshwater fish (and >65% of freshwater manu/birds) are at risk of extinction.
Meanwhile, dairying accounts for around a quarter of emissions, but well under 5% of GDP
We can't keep farming this way. It doesn't make economic or ecological sense.
You can see from this Stats NZ table how bad our nitrogen dioxide air pollution is - red is over the WHO safe guideline.
Almost all nitrogen dioxide comes from burning fossil fuels.
Air pollution is responsible for one in ten deaths in this country,
You can't sue a rainbow. π

Don't look up accurately portrayed - years in advance - the relationship with Trump and Elon, through the characters of the President & Isherwell.

Shane Jones says "there is no such thing as Maui's dolphin. They're just hectors dolphin" - because they are part of the same family.
By that logic; @nzfirst MPs are the same as @actparty MPs, because they are same of the same government!

Clarus immediately removed their greenwashing ad after I complained about how misleading it is.
Their swift action sounds like they are concerned...

Why is everyone giving so much attention to Curia's poll? They have zero credibility and have even left RANZ, the body that sets standards for NZ pollsters.
Whether or not you like the result, don't give Curia legitimacy.

Yet another big fire at one of the businesses of Te Awamutu waste incinerator applicant, Global Metal Solutions Ltd - the third in five years.
They're a questionable company and should not be permitted to build their air-polluting waste incinerator plant.

βSPRFMO has proved to be a vehicle that has successfully closed down the New

Shane Jones has said NZF will campaign at the next election to pull NZ out of multilateral forums like SPRFMO.
He said next election campaign would look at whether New Zealandβs sovereign interests are best served by being attached to such international groups.

Milford Asset Management justifies their increasing investment in fossil fuel expansion by claiming Shell is transitioning for the future, and even believing in fairytale-style science fiction like carbon capture.
There's no way in hell I'd trust them with my Kiwisaver savings!

Seymour's schemes are nothing more than Trumpian attempts to dominate the news cycle and pretend to be anti-establishment when he actually represents his elite ultra-rich donors.
There are some similarities
