As someone who just recently learned the phrase "maxxing", I found this both fascinating and unsettling. It shows how incel slang seeps into mainstream talk and spreads fast. The casual misogyny baked into it isn't harmless - and demonizing women is flat-out toxic.

What if we insist on a vision for education that attends to the serious work of human presencing in a world in pain? What if pedagogical poetics becomes the reminder of intellectual integrity, with humility and vulnerability in pursuit of new-ness? How might we exist for one another, then?

And yes. That’s exactly right.

Something violence researchers have warned for decades is that there is no neutrality in violence. Any violence that isn’t stopped escalates.

And we’re seeing that now as schools go from a space considered off-limits for violence to a space specifically targeted in war and genocide.

During my lifetime, the American conservative agenda has been preoccupied with expanding violence in schools—and normalizing violence against children more broadly.

School shootings, campus sexual violence, bathrooms bans, ICE raids, and now bombing a girls’ school in Iran.

Many are appropriately outraged by Altman’s comments here implying that raising a human child is akin to “training” an AI model.

This is part of a broader pattern where AI industry leaders use language that collapses the boundary between human and machine.

I read that this becomes illegal May 1st (mass no fault evictions), showing quite precisely in one awful example why known "cliff edges" for these kinds of rule changes are a deliberate political gift to the worst people ever.
