An insect stands perched on a length of dry brown broomsedge bluestem grass. The insect is a wasp-ish looking thing — gilded in a metallic evening blue. A sawfly, I believe. The grass and lighting comes together with the color of melting creamsicle. The bug is pretty chill. Maybe he’s on THE WEED. Get it. Because it’s a weed. With the warming of spring it’s time to break out the macro lens. Here is what I believe is an early sawfly on broomsedge bluestem.

Four books just jumped into my cart somehow. I absolutely refuse to never have access to those books in print. The Worm and His Kings trilogy remains one of the most breathtaking things I have ever read.

I fear I won this round.

My grandmother turned 82 years old and mere days later? Climbed up a six foot ladder to dust a shelf, fell off, broke her collarbone, had to go to the hospital, had a mild stroke while in the hospital, nearly had a heart attack, and less than a week later is up to 75% functionality in rehab. Insane.
