Merins eyes on the other hand flickered with the hellish power of the warp.

" I can unmarked you with a thought before you can even draw a weapon. So I don't think I will forget. As a matter of fact, I think I might put you on my watch list for later interrogation. "

" Then I suppose I don't need everyone to believe me. Just my Lord Inquisitor. "

She said with a sly grin, folding one leg over the other. As she shifted in her seat, the sigil of the Inquisition became visible on the breast of her suit.

" We've been investigating the 21st for some time. "

Merin was enthralled for just about the entire story. Guests came and went, but Merin didn't move.

" Another legion... not a chapter, but an original Legion that isn't complying with the Codex Astartes... "

" Im one of the untouchables remember? Not like I have plans after this. "

Finding a member of the Holy Adeptus Astartes in a shitty run down Hive Pub would be strange enough on its own.

" Oh yeah? Is there a story there perhaps? "

She asked, waving over the bartender to bring another round of shots for the two of them.

Merin raised an eyebrow.

" Assassin? I don't think you're supposed to be telling people that no? Especially if you're from the Officio Assassinorum I'd imagine. "

The Psyker starts after taking a shot.

" People are not supposed to be comfortable being close to me. Might put a target on your back. "

Shes enjoying a drink, though every seat around her at the bar is vacant.

No one wants to sit next to the witch

People always forget how weird you are as a psyker when you bat your eyelashes at them.

Meanwhile im reading your mind and sending psychic messages to get you arrested for thought crimes.

The Talon asked as she pulled her dagger from the last guards throat. The Psyker took a deep breath, calming her heart and regaining control of the Warp in her mind.

" ... Why would I do that My Lady. It is much more interesting this way, wouldn't you say? "

Vissia, with her transhuman reaction time and speed, slaughtered every other guard in the room before the Governors body had hit the floor.

" Merin, warn me next time. "

She had physically pulled his murderous intent out of him mind, solidified it into a crystalline dagger, and threw it as though it were a spear through the Governors head right between his eyes.

She sensed hate and murderous intent from one of the guards as he lowered his rifle towards Vissia. Merin latched onto that feeling. She reached into his mind and gripped it, ripping it out with all her might until the guards head exploded in a fountain of gore.

She could not focus on the conversation between Vissia and the Governor, but she didn't care. She was searching for her opening. An opening she found coming from directly behind her.

She had the ability of foresight to an extent, and she knew this meeting would not end bloodless. She had told Vissia as much and yet the Talon had insisted on coming anyway. And so Merin came along, the entire time reading the minds of everyone in the room and judging intent.

A craving to feel anything and everything all at once. A sick and twisted perversion of love and hate, intermingled into a sludge of debauchery. But Merin just bit her tongue and bided her time.

Vissia was invisible to her, but this Governor... she could see clearly. She saw his corruption, the taint of chaos had dug its way in deep, as it did with all the guards around them. A lustful yearning for pleasure and pain alike.

But that was the least of the Psykers worries at the moment. See, she does not see people as everyone else does. She can see the world around her as she is not blind, but instead of seeing the person, she sees their soul.

Vissia however was a Blank, a fact the Talon loved to remind her of. She had no soul. No connection to the warp. The fact Merin could even stand next to her without clawing out her own throat spoke volumes about the control Vissia had over her abilities.

Merin had immediately noticed that these soldiers were particularly well equipped for a " peaceful negotiation " though she had assumed Vissia had caught this too. She had to assume, because with anyone else she could simply read their mind.
