So everyone's talking about the quick shot and counter attack mechanics from Resident Evil 6, but no one's saying anything about what I think is 99% Sherry Birkin working with Leon. Sounds just like her and would be perfect given both are DSO. Maybe we'll actually get a Claire cameo this time 🙏

Special mention for Village (Certain parts like Beneviento, Doll Mia, Lycan scares, etc) and RE2R (atmosphere goes crazy and I was always concerned about what could be lurking behind the next corner).

RE9 definitely looks to be shaping up as the next scary as hell RE title.

RE7 for me. Actually terrified out of my mind when I played it for the first time. Resident was never really scary like that for me before, so it was a crazy experience.

Actually had a blast playing it about a year back when it came to game pass. Very fun. I was not expecting the game to be as good as it was when it had so much development trouble and like zero people talking about it after it's release.

YES. This likely means more spin-offs (which can bring back a lot of characters sorely missed) and hopefully resolving the several loose threads we still have. Having most main RE games take place around the year they come out has always felt a bit stifling for the story IMO.

Also, this wouldn't be the first attempt at trying to recreate something akin to Lisa. Lost in Nightmares has Spencer going back to the roots and experimenting on Progenitor out of Desperation, creating the "Blob". Also wouldn't be surprised if there are Lisa samples out there given her importance.

One thing I could see, is the monster being Grace's mother, either purposefully transformed to LOOK like Lisa Trevor by the main villain or was consumed/fused with Lisa Trevor, which explains the creature's obvious blonde hair.

And in the ending to RE Outbreak, it's made a specific point that non-human life could survive in the city. Also, the US government was actively testing in the area for months and were seemingly dropping either t-Virus samples or BOWs into the city (called "T-4" as well as them planning to drop more

So the monster in the Resident Evil 9 demo 100% uses Lisa Trevor's scream from REmake. Like straight up the same one. She was noted for being particularly unkillable, so I wouldn't be surprised if she managed to survive. Mutation, regeneration and in general redesigning can cover visuals changes.

If you own it on a console, then yes, the game is decently active. I still play it occasionally. PC is a no go though (dead + cheaters).
