Report Says Florida Immigration Prisons Are Violating Human Rights Standards One prisoner said detainees were was being forced to eat meals with their hands shackled behind their backs.

A new report from Human Rights Watch says conditions at three immigration detention facilities in Florida “flagrantly violate international human rights standards and the United States government’s own immigration detention standards.”

Laughing in front of cages designed to hold migrants and refugees, many of whom came to this country fleeing extreme violence and poverty, and hoping to raise their children in a more compassionate country. And many of whom followed all the legal procedures to enter the country.
