We are pleased to announce that Dr Ben Bowers has been appointed to the role of Assistant Professor of Primary Care within the PCU.

In this new role, Dr Bowers will continue to address complex, system-wide end-of-life care problems and improve dying care at home.

Here, we looked at just-in-case (JIC) drug use in 80 patients who died in the community and found:

1. High levels of individualised prescribing: 71% were modified (the prescribing template detects CKD, seizures, Parkinson’s, etc and suggests suitable alternatives)
