There is no indication the journalist was aware of what was happening on the island, though I have to imagine they knew at least part of the reson why he was in prison-ish.

10/17 This exchange is significant since it seems clear that the journalist was well aware that Epstein had been convicted and was, in fact, in contact with him while he was, theoretically at least, in custody as the journalist is surpised Epstein has Internet access.

9/17 Epstein appears to have been in contact with an Edmonton-based journalist who was in contact with Epstein regarding a documentary he or she (most likely a she) had produced. The journalist was enquiring if Epstein had yet watched the documentary. Epstein notes he was in custody at the time.

8/17 I suppose it wouldn't be too much of a surprise that a wealthy slimeball would be interested in expanding his financial holdings, but then there is the connection he had with people who actually live (or lived) in the province.

2/17 I did a search of various cities. Vancouver shows up the most atr over 1400 references, Montreal second, and Toronto third. Most of these are in reference to travel arrangements through the cities to other locations, however there were also deeper connections.
