This is me putting Genndy Tartakovsky and Scott Wills under the umbrella of the style of Samurai Jack. I like how Genndy boards and directs action scenes, and there's an elegance to how Scott Wills simplifies environments while not sacrificing important details

Genesiskeys has an influence on me because his philosophy for graphic design is just so stylish and I think their design and colors just mixed with the sketch focus of their actual artstyle looks so damn cool. This is a style thats just so fun to reference from

Steve Purcell is one of those artists I like and feel influenced by JUST for the little quirks in his art. Like the way he uses color variation in lines and the way he'll render environments in shadow where lines will be a lighter color. I think that's neat

I like the way Jamie Hewlett uses color theory and -speaking of complex design- uses clutter and disorganization in his design philosophy.

For me it goes to show cluttered space and visual noise tells its own stories and brings something notable to composition

Its not avoiding complex elements like the plague, its moreso being economical with character design elements that'll stand out

Thousands before me have said that Lauren Faust has a way with ebb and flow in character design, prioritizing efficient shape language and readability, and I really like the way she uses that to make areas on her characters with more visual weight stand out almost like a highlight.

I'm a fan of C.H Greenblatt's comedic storytelling and the way he knows how to handle comedy through character animation sort of effortlessly. Like you can sense his boarding style from a mile away.

Chowder was a great cartoon to grow up with and it STILL holds up really well

This is a roundabout way of me saying i'm influenced by TF2 but Leyendecker had a really good formula for shape language where each shape and color stood out on their own from one another and all flowed geometrically

@msatom.bsky.social's art is striking to me for his use of color and indirect light. Its given me a SEVERE infatuation with stark secondary light sources when i'm rendering

I saw a lot of @twist.dog's art back when I was actually beginning to lock into art a few years ago, and her work was influential to me in the way she bent expressions in relatively simple character designs and the way it complimented her use of composition. Its great
