Today the UK Government published guidelines for commercial baby food.
This is a welcome step, as levels of salt and sugar in these products are far too high and many have misleading claims. But ultimately, we need mandatory guidelines to achieve meaningful change.

Good news! The UK Government has today launched its consultation on banning the sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to under-16s - delivering on a key manifesto promise.
@sustainweb.org has long campaigned for this step, which could prevent obesity in up to 40,000 children.

Amazing to take our campaign to the heart of government.
We need a National Alcohol Strategy for England, with a focus on MUP, marketing restrictions and mandatory cancer warning labels.

Want to understand the specific cancer risks when consuming alcohol and how they increase? Does a pint a day make a big difference? Are women more at risk then men?
This great Telegraph article unpicks it all with @wcrf.org's Dr Helen Croker for Cancer Prevention Action Week.

Huge thanks to @shaapalcohol.bsky.social for supporting Cancer Prevention Action Week and raising awareness on alcohol as a cause of cancer. Too few people know the risks - working together to reduce consumption, more people can avoid the devastation of an alcohol related cancer diagnosis.

Alcohol causes cancer. Too few of us who regularly drink understand that. The minimum requirement should be a warning on products. That the industry objects shows how itβs in their commercial interests to play this information down and keep customers in the dark

Delighted to be quoted in todayβs @theguardian.com as we launch @wcrf.org #CancerPreventionActionWeek. Most people donβt know alcohol increases cancer risk β but they have a right to. Itβs time for mandatory warnings.

I've shared some reflections on our engagement in last week's Multi stakeholder hearing, ahead of September's High Level Meeting on NCDs and how we urgently need to press the case for cancer prevention.

Today, weβre launching a major report on dietary and lifestyle patterns and their role in cancer prevention.

This is a powerful report that supports our research that alcohol increases the risk of up to 7 types of cancer and that there is no safe limit of drinking. The Government must act π

Itβs great to see this @whoeurope.bsky.social report recommending health warning labels be added to alcohol packaging. Our own evidence shows alcohol is a risk factor for at least 7 cancers, yet it's exempt from any mandatory warning labels in most countries... π§΅1/2
