Watching all these centrist pundits stress the “civility” of Charlie Kirk’s style without addressing the ugliness of his substance is giving me a renewed appreciation of how the civil, polite White Citizens’ Councils conned the same crowd into thinking they were distinct from the cruder Klan.

The details surrounding the abhorrent shooting of Charlie Kirk remain unclear, but what is crystal clear is that political violence is a cancer.

This violence must have no safe harbor and must be condemned in all its forms and in all corners.

This is not reporting. This is propaganda.

I'm originally from a tiny county in the Florida panhandle. About 15K people total. Deep red uber-Trump. They had 99 people and one dog at the event today, which is a minor miracle.

We were roasting in Cary, but it was worth it. It was a nice reminder that at least in the cities and 'burbs of this reddish-purple state most people don't support this insanity.
