The Irish Examiner have updated their article about it Aer Lingus axing the Amsterdam route.

Now mentions that KLM may add a third daily flight to their existing route, or deploy a larger aircraft - possibly a 737 - to cater for the demand in S25.

Very unfortunate news to announce,

Aer Lingus are to axe their Cork to Amsterdam service after roughly 28 years.

Huge shame for them to drop this route, but KLM may be doing 28x weekly flights to fill in the gap at some point, which will of course be welcomed.

Cork to Bristol service to be 8x weekly for January only - Saturday flight suspended.

Alghero to be 1x weekly in April.

Cork to Rome Ciampino increased to 3x weekly in February and March.

Aer Lingus will begin flying from Cork to Bilbao and Bordeaux for S25!

Flights are not loaded in yet but the destinations have been loaded into the booking system.

Over 2.86 million have travelled through the airport since January. The 3 million mark will be reached before the end of the month!

Also this could be purely just to compete with Ryanair. Ryanair fly to TFS twice on Saturdays, despite not flying there every other day of the week

No, Aer Lingus are to base 5 aircraft in Cork next summer. A huge increase in flights to Faro will help facilitate the extra aircraft.

This will most likely change now that the Dublin cap has been paused for S25, and due to continued Boeing delivery delays.

Next month is when we should start getting new route announcements from EI and FR.

Ryanair has officially axed the Cork to Bordeaux service, as the destination has been removed from the booking system
