Also just want to reiterate that the idea that u can get endlessly reinfected w Covid and it won't do harm bc you are vaccinated, is simply false. Being vaccinated will help prevent severe outcomes/death if ur body generates a strong immune response but this piece explains the flaws in this thinking

I read an article a few years ago about "When is a pandemic over?" The bottom line was "It's over when we decide it's over." There are no standard metrics of new infections, death rates etc. A pandemic is over when it's too much trouble to go on as if there was a pandemic.

I think about that a lot.
