AI is really just paraphrasing what it has found and trusted on the web, it from other sources depending on the AI.

I think it's quite straightforward. If you use AI to make an artwork then it is made using AI. If you use an AI to learn or train, or do preparatory sketches, but the cartoon is done by yourself then it is not made using AI.

AI is just a tool. If it sparks up one day, without being prompted, and says 'hey, look at this cartoon I've made" then you could say that AI made the cartoon. Otherwise, it is you who had the idea and used whatever tools you had to produce the work.

It's literally the definition of retaliation. If someone hasn't done anything to you and you attack them, you can't claim retaliation.
