How have I been using Godot for 2 years and not known about the Curve class ๐
02.11.2025 00:29 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks for the breakdown!
Sounds like you have it all planned out already ๐ช๐
Smart to make the combat system usable for both the gen algo combats and the animated ones!
Iโm excited to see this take shape ๐
That's a very interesting approach ๐ค You say it's simple but to me it sounds quite complicated haha ๐
Do you plan to have the 1000s of creatures face off behind the scenes, or will the player be involved in the gen algo process somehow?
Sorry for all the questions ๐
but this is interesting ๐
Oh now that's a cool idea! I bookmarked the link, will read the article when my brain is less foggy from tiredness ๐๐ But it looks very intersting!
31.10.2025 23:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That sounds really cool ๐ but quite complex design-wise indeed. Do you plan to include an overworld with catching mechanics and everything?
I love the idea of customising each creature's moveset and powers. Sounds like there'd be a lot of fun for players experimenting with builds ๐
It'll pay off ๐ช The compound effect of your efforts will build to a tipping point and then the industry will crumble under the weight of AstraX ๐
31.10.2025 22:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yeah it's an emotional topic, but whatever you choose will be for the best I have no doubt ๐.
Who knows maybe in the end this auto-battler will pull you back in ๐คฃ
Yeah the video was very interesting! It's cool you could work together with your brother ๐
Personally, I hope to see your auto-battler take shape ๐ It would be a loss to gamedev if you quit imo. But you gotta follow your heart. If taking a break or quitting is what you need then that's cool too!
No worries, I'm sure you'll have fun tomorrow ๐
I watched your Endless RPG - My personal Final Fantasy video yesterday, was cool to hear the story behind the game ๐. Are you planning on quitting gamedev for good, or will you continue with smaller hobby projects?
You're killing it with the marketing atm ๐ช
It's a tough choice, but if I had to pick I think the new one looks more fitting. And as someone who spends a lot of hours looking at screens every day, dark themes are always a win for me ๐
Marketing task of this month: game website color rebrand ๐ช
Old vs new. Which do you prefer?

31.10.2025 12:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's bone animation using a bunch of Skeleton2Ds setup with IK ๐. And to link the bones to the sprites I'm using RemoteTransform2D nodes. Although now that I think on it, just making them children of the bones would be simpler ๐
.
Here's the setup for one of the arms.
Good luck, Kez! Such a cool opportunity, you'll smash it ๐ช๐
31.10.2025 00:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Oooooh awesome that does sound fun ๐
Can't wait to see what you cook up with this ๐๐
And in game with some very rough and simple animation as a test. Don't have the attacks and other behaviour mapped out yet, but sooooooon(tm) ๐
30.10.2025 19:46 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Something a little different. An in-editor look at what the boss phase 2 scene looks like after all the bones and IKs are set up. In the interest of being able to see anything, I hid the bone gizmos though ๐

Or maybe the paddle could charge the ball with energy when you flick it, which can be used to damage enemies. And to recharge you have to go back down to the paddles for another flick ๐ค
Sorry don't wanna be backseat deving here ๐
That sounds so cool! You could maybe give the ball AoE abilities too, or effects that trigger on a bounce or if it's travelling over a certain speed ๐ค
Like it could shoot little projectiles or explode when it bounces, damaging nearby enemies, or leave a damaging trail when moving fast ๐ค
+1 to this idea!
And maybe impaling the ball could let you freely rotate the paddle and shoot the ball like from a cannon ๐ค๐
Haha ๐ the physics need some tweaking
This is rapier 2D

Oh wow I love the visual style already ๐คฉ. Looks like there's big potential for some chaotic fun too with the bouncy pinball ๐
Do you have plans for the roguelike/progression mechanics? ๐ It's such a cool concept!
Damn you're riiiiipped, congrats on the progress, that's awesome ๐ช๐
And congrats on the return to gamedev next week ๐ฅณ, can't wait to see more of your work ๐
Thank you ๐. Yeah I think it works in the context of this boss fight. Plus I kinda like the creepy/goofy vibe of it haha. I hope it gets a bit of a "WTF!" response from some players when they see it for the first time ๐
29.10.2025 18:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Aw no ๐ญ. A playable prototype would be even better though ๐๐
