You never really see how abusive & unhealthy something was until you have the benefit of hindsight. I mean you might know logically how bad it is, but knowing something emotionally is entirely different. I hope I might one day know it emotionally, too.

As a former vet tech, those long squat bodies might look funny & cute, but they will use them as clubs. They get you in the knee, your leg reflexively buckles, you fall, & well, they've got teeth, don't they? Any dog can be dangerous given the right provocation & it's important to remember that!

False ceiling hiding something probably against code. Looks like the walls have a slight bow to them in both pictures, which could be normal settling OR a serious structural issue. The cheap carpet, fireplace, fixtures, & window treatment job also tell us they probably cheaped out in other ways too.

It's literally illegal to zone a single building for both commercial & residential use without going through a months long approval process that requires the city council & a judge where I live. I wish desperately they'd start building up the density instead of building out into endless sprawl.

I went to boarding school for a year, & we all had to be up to date with our TB boosters since we had 2 students who had been adopted from Russia who were TB carriers. TB was a huge problem in Russian orphanages, & unpasteurized milk was a common transmitter. It was an awful burden for them to bear.
