For me it's that so many don't realize #PbtA rolls aren't "skill checks", but are narrative control checks; they don't decide IF you succeed or fail, they determine who gets to say what happens when you do something, a "failure" is just one option for the MC to select, and it's rarely the best one.

So one of the concepts which I've been enamored with in game mechanics/resolution lately is "let it ride". It first clicked for me in Vaesen, of all places. Lemme talk about it.

Okay, I can open them in Firefox... but not Adobe... very weird.

I'm getting a "damaged file" error when I try to open "Cosmoscrawler_V1.1.pdf".

Okay, I'm getting that error on The Long Walk pdfs a well.

But the "Cosmoscrawler_cards" pdf opens fine... not sure if this is something on my end or your end.

I'm using Adobe Reader.

The original M3GAN was a big hit here, especially with my daughter (She went as M3GAN for Halloween two years ago) and I really liked the subtext of the first movie.

And 2.0 plays a little more on the "fun/silly" side, but is still a good ride. It's like T2 vs The Terminator; we quite enjoyed it.

Second feature, watched this week, was M3GAN 2.0 (2025).

Follow up to the surprise creepy doll hit #M3GAN (2022), this one follows in the cybernetic footsteps of T2 to become more action (and comedy) that the original.

All the (surviving) cast returns to good effect.

I've loved Sophie Thatcher's performances since I saw her in Prospect (2018) and Jack Quaid, and the rest of the small cast, are great here too.

I don't think I've ever seen any exposure on Reddit turn into sales.

I've had my games mentioned there multiple times and seen huge surges of "new views" from those mentions and see it result in zero sales.

And, yeah, they tend to be very ad adverse.

I don't get the appeal either, but I can see it as a form of very structured improv so I can kind of grasp what people might see in it, but, for me, it's completely uninteresting.

Going to write more about this, probably tomorrow as I'm rather tired right now, but playing #ttrpgs online, like via Discord or Zoom or Teams, just doesn't scratch the gaming itch for me at all; it's like a fake grass version of play for me for the most part and it's tough for me to get into.
