I've supported @greenparty.org.uk locally for some time now, but the latest asylum 'reforms' from @teamlabouruk.bsky.social have tipped me over the edge on the national level. Thanks for having me, Green Party.

Sign for a bus hub in Oxford
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?
Please consider signing this petition to make a proper public transport hub in Oxford. It would integrate train and bus services and free up Gloucester Green to make a new town square or even (shock!) a playground, as our fab Green councillors are suggesting.

Image of a laptop opened on top of a table, with a bookcase in the background. There is an open notebook on it, with a pen. On the laptop screen there is a video that says "Ecologies and Futures"
🎉🎉 If you missed it, Dr Emily Pillinger's fascinating contribution to the 25th Annual Joint Postgraduate Symposium on Ancient Performance and Reception is now online, accessible to all. Go to the APGRD website or our YouTube channel to watch it.

I've spent a lot of time thinking about this fascinating exchange Colbert had with Dua Lipa, when she asked him about the role his faith plays in his comedy.

BREAKING 🚨: WE WON OUR CASE AGAINST ROSEBANK.
The court has ruled the oil field UNLAWFUL and Rosebank’s approval has been overturned.
This is a monumental victory in the fight for a liveable future for all.

Oh yikes, good shout - I think I've been stressing about the problems with so many different sites that I've blanked that all out! But yes. Maybe even like Edith Hall, on a personal website? I dunno about the legalities...

Oh no, I’m so sad to see this. I have never laughed so hard when reading a book as at the scene with the paternoster in ‘Changing Places’. It is perfection.

'NHS nursery closure could mean I can't do my job'
NHS staff with young chidren are trying to save two hospital-affiliated nurseries in south London.
A decision is needed Feb, yet tribunal isn’t until Dec 2025. This system is failing families. I’ve spoken to the BBC about SEND issues and would gladly give an interview if there’s a follow-up article. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... #SEND #Tribunals"

Powerful piece in The Guardian today exposing LAs wasting huge sums on losing SEND tribunals. We’ve just launched our own appeal against the LA for my son Ali, which they have no chance of winning—backed by multiple professionals. @richada.bsky.social

This is crummy treatment of students and teachers who have been working hard to pursue a subject that interests and excites them. I’m sorry the government feels that is something to discourage rather than reward. I hope there are ways to ameliorate the damage done today.

Thank you so much! It sometimes feels like a lonely position to take, but I'm conscious that it is also one that is so much easier because I am in a secure job and have had wonderful travel opportunities in the past. It is time to let others have the long-distance adventures!

This is fantastic. I've sadly declined several conference invitations that involve flights the past couple of years, but had a blast speaking at more conferences by train across Europe. I am grateful for a sympathetic partner who has taken on longer periods of solo domestic labour to support this.

In Reims for a conference on poetry and prophecy. It's all cathedrals and champagne - apparently even the trams' windshields are shaped to mimic the shape of champagne flutes!

There's no better way to measure how the patriarchy's doing than to count the number of women compared with men sitting in the first class carriages on #GWR (as you trudge toward the overflowing cattle class).
