In a world where the incumbent president bowed to pressure and stepped aside, it doesn’t seem like such a monumental ask to switch minority leaders.

US senators will say anything. "Standing up to donald trump gave him more power." No it didn't. That isn't true.

Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari of Arizona’s 3rd District describes the β€œhorrific conditions” she witnessed inside the Eloy ICE Detention Center near Phoenix β€” including a leukemia patient β€œvomiting blood,” detained in February and forced to wait eight months before finally seeing an oncologist.

Ansari details how private prison giants CoreCivic and The GEO Group are β€œmaking billions” as detainees are denied water, medical care, and dignity. β€œWhat happens inside these for-profit prisons is how the world sees us now,” she warns β€” so β€œauthoritarian regimes can point to America and say democracy is a faΓ§ade.”

As I have said before, the broader silence on the ethnic pogrom of terror across this country is one of those things you can’t help noticing from the loudest special boy politics knowers on here.

for all of the disingenuous screeches about government spending, we'd sure save a lot of fucking money if the police just stopped violating people's rights

Bari Weiss is Tulsi Gabbard with a byline. With distortions, half truths and lies, she is the Vichy voice who fancies herself speaking Truth to Power, when she truly is just someone speaking to a fascist exactly the lies he wants to hear.

When I lived in a cultish community, they often used β€œunity” as a method to silence those who expressed disagreement or who were victimized by the system.

Same dynamic here. One sided β€œunity.” Unity for me, not for thee.

This is true for every policy issue, which is a good example why having two dysfunctional chambers run by people who hate democracy is so bad

11.11.2025 02:47 β€” πŸ‘ 79    πŸ” 11    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

it's so dumb to talk about bipartisanship as an end unto itself because political parties are not supposed to want to work with each other if they can help it. you're not supposed to wanna work with your opponents. you want to accomplish as much of your agenda as possible

11.11.2025 02:16 β€” πŸ‘ 89    πŸ” 10    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 2

the Senate does appear to have just passed exactly this into law, because the only thing the Senate has more of than rank corruption is unbelievable stupidity

11.11.2025 03:42 β€” πŸ‘ 64    πŸ” 10    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh we're worried the administration is misusing appropriated funds. Is there some way to oppose that?

11.11.2025 01:49 β€” πŸ‘ 115    πŸ” 17    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I'll go further and say that if you report the "Senate data" provision as being about Jack Smith you are actively lying to your readers. it is a bipartisan pro-corruption law that more or less confers immunity from corruption prosecutions on all 100 senators whether they want it or not.

For anyone who was sleeping, major political news last night: a judge chose a new map for Utah that will deliver a seat to Democrats.

Major point in Dems’ favor that effectively neuters the GOP’s move in Missouri, much like California countered Texas.

SNAP embarrassed him. So now he's against SNAP. SNAP is now the James Comey of government assistance programs.

Call a Senator that voted no tonight and demand that they vote to remove Chuck Schumer as Senate Minority Leader.

He has weaponized his incompetence against the American people by allowing 8 Dem Senators to cave to an authoritarian regime. We need real leadership, not the oligarchy’s lapdog

It took a courageous Republican bucking his party to give America affordable healthcare and eight cowardous Democrats bucking their party to give take it away.

Dems are very proud of themselves for their β€œsavvy” willingness to tell their base to simmer down and let the experts work. What they don’t seem to understand is the intangible, but very real, damage that does to the enthusiasm of their voters, who feel abandoned. And then the β€œexperts” fail!

10.11.2025 04:32 β€” πŸ‘ 715    πŸ” 104    πŸ’¬ 19    πŸ“Œ 4

This is the message of a failed, feckless, and leaderless party. We need a party with backbone, and the only path to it is through a cleansing primary season. If your Dem is up for reelection, and you aren't damn sure they're fighting the fascists with everything they've got, primary the bastard.

This is my favorite part of this cycle we've been repeating for my entire adult life: when they sit backwards on the chair for some real talk and explain that you're a fucking peasant who doesn't understand how things work.

10.11.2025 13:52 β€” πŸ‘ 1805    πŸ” 428    πŸ’¬ 53    πŸ“Œ 18

Schumer is really an anti-leader, a vacuum of leadership, and as far as I can tell he draws his support from that. He doesn’t ask anything of anyone, he never squeezes anyone on a hard vote, he’s always the first to cave.

He’s the substitute teacher the kids love having because they can goof off.
