Consumers have to create market incentives for companies to do the right thing. Otherwise, they'll throw us under the bus to make more money or to stay competitive. Anthropic itself said as much last week. Anthropic may be more principled but they aren't selfless, so keep that in mind.

Now, here's my 2-part advice for Anthropic:

1) Make a compelling consumer case for *paying*—b/c this drug dealer's 'first hit is free' approach is outdated, and the free models are a like an all-you-can-eat buffet that leads to frivolous use and disastrous waste of precious/scarce resources.

2) Work on versions of Claude that can run *locally*—b/c Big Tech has absolutely destroyed trust, which makes cloud options too risky or a no-go for many.

Now, here's my 2-part advice for Anthropic:

They can't get to their Orwellian dreams without endless wars.

Another example of conflicting messages w/r/t AI.

The US wants to be a manufacturing economy again—purportedly to reemploy all those workers displaced by globalism—but everyone is building robots for industrial use.

So any US factories that materialize will eventually be populated with robots.

'Centrism' is just self-conceit, another form of empty virtue signaling.

Calling yourself an independent who chooses positions after considering all sides and arguments would be far more respectable and honest.

Another example of incompetence and overreach that is going to backfire. Badly.

The problem with the AI revolution is that it's being led by men with Dr. Frankenstein ambitions and the sci-fi fever dreams of little boys. Little boys who like to play games of war.

These men *could* get rich building tech that truly serves and advances humanity rather that destroying it, but no.
