Writing a message to a friend and accidentally wrote "Panel 4" instead of "Channel 4". Guess what I've been doing all day? 🙃 #ComicsOnTheBrain

All that's to say, I think it 100% takes lots of effort. It's good to acknowledge that and set aside time to work through tons of options. But it's worth it, right? After all, it's basically the face of your graphic novel. It's your first chance to say something about the story between the covers.

Titles are tricky! The best titles have layers, thematic resonances, and they're fun to say... but should also feel unique (for easy searching!). I like to brute force it with as many ideas and variations as possible - like, dozens. Eventually, hopefully, the perfect title descends from the heavens.

I was recently reminded of a pithy line (apparently from Oscar Wilde) about people who know the price of everything and the value of nothing. The more the big guy (big tech, big business, big data) tries to steal the little artist's lunch, the more I keep going back to that thought.
