Increased Biofuel Production in the US Midwest May Harm Farmers and the Climate The expansion of biofuel production as an alternative fuel source not only raises questions about sustainability, but about economic inequities among Midwestern small farmers.

New research from my colleagues out today looking at the environmental and social impacts of food crop-based biofuels in the US, where we now use >30% of the corn supply and >40% of the soybean oil supply (on tens of millions of acres of prime cropland) to produce only ~6% of US transport fuel. 🧪

"Introspective" is spot on. I love Eddie Chacon, but this one doesn't grab me like his previous albums did. I think its the switch to brooding Nick Hakim production from the more immediate melodies from John Carroll Kirby. Appreciate the change up stylistically though, still an engaging listen.

To be honest, in the last month or two I'm seeing a lot more official accounts for various news organizations and other official accounts and that's helpful. But yes, need more than just commentary.

Each of us is here for a short time. It’s depressing that some choose to use their time grifting and generally making life worse for everyone else, instead of trying to improve the world for those who don’t have a voice, whether people, animals, or other life forms.
