The mass starvation & killing of Palestinians in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli govโt is a chillul hashem, a desecration of God.
Jewish leaders who criticized Zohran Mamdani for three words he doesnโt use should raise their voices loudly here as well.

In the summer of 1888, Texas Rangers Ira Aten and Jim King went undercover to try to identify and arrest so-called โfence cutters.โ They were unsuccessful. In frustration, Aten developed a plan to hide mines in the fences, blowing them up when cutters approach. /1

This was never about protecting Jews, but many in politics and the press willingly fell for it.

23.07.2025 22:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Marble 60-feet tall monument with a wide rectangular base. The second level has carvings of men in 1800s dress at the bottom of a tall rectangular marble piece with a sloping side to meet the corner of the bottom rectangular base. Names carved around the top edge of base of people at the Alamo in 1836. The tall piece has a carving of a semi-nude man reaching towards the sky. The sloping part has some sort of rod with long leaves on each side.
By the way, Ozzy never actually urinated on the Alamo.
He urinated on the cenotaph which was in the plaza across the street from the Alamo. ๐๐ผ
That monument was added at peak Juan Crow and the doubling down on their ownership of San Antonio de Valero and the 1836 mythology.
I first read of these killings in probably 1997 or 1998; the march of time, especially contemporary police violence and Israeli settler violence and warfare with Palestinians, has led me to revisit them over and over.

21.07.2025 21:26 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0ironically, I just looked at my last correspondence with Olsson (we have shared interests in transnational history). I praised him for being critical of a book that needed critiquing; here is part of his review of www.ucpress.edu/books/arise/...
